Pet Pee Pads OEM: Specification Points for Importers
Pet pee pads look simple and are not. A pad is a stack of layers, and the build decides how much it holds, how it feels underfoot, and how it ships. The top sheet is a non-woven fabric that lets liquid through fast; beneath it sits a tissue layer; at the core is the SAP, a super-absorbent polymer that turns liquid into gel; the back sheet is polyethylene that stops anything reaching the floor.
SAP loading is the figure that matters most. More SAP means more absorbed volume per pad, but also a higher cost and a thicker pad. We set SAP loading to your target market and your price point, and we confirm the absorbed capacity against the build rather than quoting a single number for every size. Sizes run S / M / L / XL, and a compressed carton of a fixed count is the usual retail unit.
Private label on pads follows the same rule as litter: your artwork, barcode and brand on a proven construction, with an NDA signed before any sample or specification is shared. The construction and its tooling are held for your brand alone once the specification is locked, so a competitor cannot receive your exact build.
Documentation is what clears a pad through customs. You will need a Certificate of Origin, an MSDS, and test reports for the figures on the pack. Tell us the destination market before artwork is cut, because labelling rules differ and a change after print is expensive. Pads ship from Qingdao by the carton and load alongside cat litter in a mixed container, so one shipment can carry both categories under one documentation set.
